1st Dr.'s visit

The first Dr.'s visit that we had was pretty uneventful. We spend a loooong time filling out paperwork and health history forms for us and all of our family members. That took up most of the appointment. We did talk to the nurse practitioner briefly. She didn't recommend that we try and hear the heartbeat at this point because it would most likely be to early and she didn't want us to worry when we didn't hear it. They did draw some blood for a thyroid panel due to my hyperthyroidism. We got the results back about a week later and all is well. The nurse practitioner also gave me a prescription for zofran to help with the naseau that I have been having. We really liked all of the people that we saw today. We felt really good after the appointment and it was exciting to get things started.

Joel and I are expecting!!

By now just about everybody knows that I am pregnant. The reason Joel and I decided to start the blog was to keep everyone updated on the lastest news. I thought that I would start from the beginning. I found out that I was pregnant on December 10th. Joel and I were very excited. We had been talking about starting a family for awhile, but had only been doing the things we needed to get ready. Talking to Dr.'s, taking vitamins, that sort of stuff. We were so excited because we only tried one time!!! We wanted to tell everyone right away but decided to wait until Christmas. It was really hard to wait, but we did. It was a great surprise.

In loving memory of Mom Kruize

Mom was so excited when we told her that she was going to be a grandma again. We told her and dad on Christmas day. We were going to wait and tell them when we were back there over New Years but couldn't wait any longer. I am so grateful that we had the opportunity to visit with her for a week just before she passed away. I am also grateful that I was able to talk to her hours before on the night she passed. We were talking about how Joel and I were going to start this blog so we could keep everybody updated with the latest baby news. Our appointment to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time was on her birthday and she was so excited about that. She has been there for me during lots of different times in my life, both happy and sad. I am so blessed to have had her in my life for as long as I did. I am really going to miss our weekly, sometimes daily, talks. I am excited to know that I will see her again someday. Mom, I love you!! I will miss you like crazy but you are always going to be in my heart.

Start of our family blog

Joel and I have decided to start a blog to keep everybody updated on our latest family news. We don't have anything to report right now so I thought I would just start with a picture of us. Two, soon to be three:-)
